Why Wait?

So many people today ask the question, "Why wait?" when I can have it now.
Why save up to buy a couch when you can, "Have it now?"
Why save up to buy a car when you can, "Have it now?"

We live in an instant gratification society.
But my question is, "Is that good?"
Look around yourself and ask yourself, "Is it working?"
I don't think so.
We have lost the art of learning to wait for things, 'patience.'
Patience is good.
Patience builds character.
Patience builds endurance.
Patience will make you a better and more lovable person.

Not every day is going to be a mountain-top experience.
To begin with, nothing grows on the mountain tops. Everything grows in the valley, that is where the nourishment is, where the water is, where the shelter is.
So when you feel blah, go back to the basics.
What IS going good in your life right now?
What do you have to be thankful for?
Have you eaten today? Cool, 'cause most people around the world haven't! Be thankful.

As I was looking up a concordance on the word 'pure,' I was amazed how many times the Bible says pure...whether it be pure gold, pure frankincense, pure conscience, pure heart, etc.
God is into purity.
He loves it, and so should we...because it gives life!
Live today focussing on pure thoughts as Philippians 4:8 says, "Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-- meditate on these things." (NKJ).

Notice the title of this blog is not, "WHO do you want to live with, but WHAT."
Who do you want to live with sounds all exciting in the heat of the moment, sounds logical, e.g. "We can halve the rent, not have to travel to see each other, etc.," but the end result is regret. "Try before you buy doesn't work because a relationship has to be based on commitment, not a try.
Anyway, coming back to what do you want to live with. Most relationships based on WHO end up living with regret. Regret is a long-term pain that is just not worth it.
Live with freedom instead.
Live knowing that YOU made the right decision, not someone else's right decision for them.
Be a success to you.

Isn't it funny that just a few years ago, staying sexually pure was "out of fashion" and "old hat." Of course, whatever you sow you reap. Now, with an epidemic of sexual diseases, as well as the massive array of social and personal problems, people are rethinking. Back to the basics.

My desire with this blog is not to beat up people or ideas, but to encourage others about the blessings and benefits of staying pure until you find just the right person.
It's about being a success personally. Doing right for yourself. Being a winner internally, and then being able to live each day knowing that YOU DID IT. Every little victory in our lives makes us stronger as a person, and happier - knowing that we are doing the right thing by ourselves, and not just letting friends or popular opinion lead us. It is truly worth it.

If you are considering keeping yourself pure, let me say it is definitely worth it. You'll be glad you did - for the rest of your life!
